On Saturday 17th December, The Friends of Alexandra Park held a Christmas event at Alexandra Park with activities in both the Pavilion and the Lodge.
The Pavilion Café, ‘Tea Hive’ were selling seasonal food and hot drinks and there were craft stalls including a children’s face painter. St. Edmunds Church Choir closed the day’s event with carols.
Alexandra Park Wildlife Group also had their first stall at the event, to promote their group, and one of their members held an impromptu Bird Walk in the afternoon, as a flock of birds swirled across the sky over the lake.
At the end of the day, about 4.30pm, a white mist/fog could be seen hovering over the Football Field behind the trees giving the park an eerie glow reminiscent of a scene out of the movies: ‘The Mist’ (Stephen King) or ‘The Fog'(John Carpenter)!
