Heard Tawny Owls in Whalley Range recently?

Now is a good time to hear young Tawny Owls begging to be fed. Their call is quite distinctive  –  listen to it here. They sound like a squeaky version of the adult female ke-wick call

If you hear Tawny Owls, please post a message on this site or email wr4wildlife@yahoo.co.uk with details of date, time and exact location (including GPS coordinates preferably! You can get these by locating on maps such as http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html)

These records will then get sent to Steve Atkins at Greater Manchester Local Record Centre
